Meet your Dentist

Dr. Gretchen Kinchen is originally from Hyden, Kentucky. As the daughter of former educators, Dr. Kinchen thought she found her calling as a middle school science teacher. When her oldest son, Thomas was born with an array of medical problems, it was necessary for her to take time off to care for her family. It also gave her the time to re-evaluate the direction her career was going. Dr. Kinchen decided to switch paths and go back to school to pursue Dentistry. She graduated from University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2008 and has owned Dental Care by Gretchen Kinchen since 2010.

My name is Melanie and I have been in the dental field for almost 29 year, spending 26 of them working in orthodontics. Two and a half years ago, I took a leap of faith and moved into general dentistry, becoming the Practice Administrator for Dr. Kinchen. When you call the office, it’s me you get to talk with. My goal is for us to be friends before we even meet face to face! I’ll help file your insurance, schedule your appointments, listen to your problems and cheer you on!

I am married to my highschool sweetheart, Bryan, and we have three oddball kids. While I’m not at work, I spend time reading, practicing photography and filling my amazon cart with things I don’t need. I have a love of all things penmanship and couldn’t live without coffee (iced, hot or in between.)

Hi! My name is Hillary and dentistry has been my passion for the last 17 years. My love of this profession extends beyond the mouth. It’s not just teeth, for me, it’s about the whole person. From the esthetics, to fillings, and everything in between, I love it all! I enjoy learning new things everyday and dentistry helps fill that need! I strive to treat my patients like they are family, dentistry should never feel scary, and I will always try to make your visits as comfortable as possible.

When I’m not being a dental ninja, I am playing wife and mom. I am happily married to the love of my life Jared, and mom to two amazing kids, Jace and Declan. When I’m not at work, you can find (and hear) me watching my son play football. I love renovating, decorating and doodling in my sketchbooks. I look forward to meeting you and your smile!

Hi! My name is Trina and although I’m a newer face around here, I’ve been an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant for 10 years, and teeth are definitely my thing. I love helping people feel better about themselves and taking a part in creating the smile they are proud of. I’m a super social person (who occasionally speaks in a British accent), so I love making friends with my patients and building relationships.

I’m family centered and love hanging out with my people, watching football and playing board games on family game night. I love travel and the cold weather (I know, I’m weird) and I don’t go anywhere without provisions. You need floss? Ask me. You need socks? I’ve got them in my bag. No, really, I have three pairs! My friends are the absolute best, and if you see us out on a girls night, come and say hey, we’ll insist you pull up a chair!
